Yes. I got a new batch of Reels from my Instagram Stories. For those of you who missed them when they were first posted, don’t worry because here they are. Enjoy.
Before last Thanksgiving, the Mikes over at Forgotten Cinema had asked people to connect In The Army Now to Stripes. To go with a theme, I decided to give myself a haircut…with unexpected results. Thank goodness hair grows back!
I went into the following Reely as a subtle connecting of the two movies (not the last time I’ll attempt this). But I think you can guess how I got from one to the other.
Is Die Hard a Christmas movie? Is Violent Night a ripoff of Die Hard? Either way, I ripped…uh, paid homage to McClane in a duct.
The week of Christmas, I Reely got into the “Spirit” of the Holiday.
How committed are YOU to anything in your lives? In spite of my being in the hospital (it’s real. Not photoshopped at all), I still got to play.

I love the ‘Fleck! I love The Town. That’s it.
Okay, I went Meta for this Reely. The Mikes went literary with their movies; American Fiction and Wonder Boys. So, I went literal. My daughter stepped in as “me” emulating Field from the original video. My initial idea was what Field had posted, so once again, I had to pivot.
I am more than capable of making these videos myself. However, there are those rare instances where I need my family’s help and they’re nowhere to be found. Luckily, I know someone who is ALL about family…you guessed it, Mr. Vin Diesel.
Being a company man makes me parched. So, I took a break At the Water Cooler By Myself for that week’s Reely. Now, that’s what I call high-quality vid-e-o.
It’s PlayReely Day…again. To commemorate the repetitiveness of it all, I try to convince Punxsutawney Phil to stand up to his shadow. Six more weeks of Winter should tell you, I was unsuccessful.
There was magic in the air when I put this together. It was done Practical-ly. This was another subtle connection. So, I provided the results.
Originally, I was going to try to connect the movies in song. The song, appropriately enough would be The Beatles’ Yesterday. I scrapped it in favor for vocalizing the title. My apologies for the drastic change in format. I was thinking in terms of IG Stories and their system, that’s why it changes with my “introduction”.
Well, I hope you enjoyed my silliness. I’ve said it before and I will reiterate; as long as the Mikes keep their partnership with PlayReely.com, I’ll keep participating (so should you). And by all means, check out their curated Reels every Monday for PlayReely.com. The results of which are posted on Tuesdays. That’s also when I share my attempts.
